Anabezi’s sister Camp, Amanzi, has been built for those travelers who prefer a more intimate feel. Overlooking a mosaic of islands that are home to a herd of elephant bulls, you’ll have nothing less than viewing pleasure from our teak sun deck and pool on the water’s edge.
Situated directly on the banks of the Zambezi's Ngwenya channel just two kilometers downstream from Anabezi. The name "Amanzi" means water in the local Tonga language and with the intimate position on the Zambezi proves a fitting name.Download Fact Sheet
The camp consists of 4 luxurious safari tents each built on a raised wooden deck with a stunning view of the Ngwenya Channel. The tents have two double beds or one king sized bed within a well designed four-poster mosquito net, an indoor shower and bathroom, 24 hour power and plenty of filtered hot and cold water, as well as a private sitting area and balcony overlooking the Zambezi.
There is a spacious family unit which consists of two of the tents linked by a raised walkway, allowing for a two bedroom, two-bathroom family tent perfect for groups with young children. The camp is intimate yet private with the tents generously spaced and connected with a raised walkway to the main area.
Amanzi is situated directly on the banks of the Zambezi's Ngwenya and the main area offers stunning views of the mosaic of islands that are home to a group of majestic elephant bulls. The pool deck sits on the banks of the Zambezi River, offering the perfect place to relax and take in the views of the river. Enjoy time around the fire on the river bank with a cold drink in hand.
A fusion of European and African cuisines are served, you’ll enjoy some of the finest food passionately designed by our head chef. From a continental breakfast, to a buffet lunch and high tea full of tasty delights, you’ll end the day with a three-course plated dinner and some of South Africa’s finest wines.
Game viewing activities take place both on the water by boat and canoe, and on land in open 4x4 game viewing vehicles seating 4 guests per vehicle. The Zambezi River is famous for the most spectacular fresh water fishing in the world, catch and release fishing is a highlight for guests. Enjoy an intimate experience with the Zambezi and the surrounding fauna and flora with a daytime walking safari or paddle downstream with the guides in canoes and enjoy the tranquility the river has to offer. Night drives around the savannah are the perfect way to see the nocturnal animals including the illusive leopard, genet and civet cats.
