Each of Kayila's 4 luxury chalets has its own elevated private viewing deck which offers uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape and guarantees absolute privacy for our guests. The open-plan design of the chalets invites the cool breeze that drifts over the Zambezi, bringing the scents and sounds of the bush to you. Kayila's luxury chalets are built using sustainably sourced and environmentally friendly materials. The floors and walls are made of mortar, while the roof is thatchedwhich offers a natural cooling effect.
The luxury chalets are extremely comfortable featuring a bedroom with two queen-size beds and a spacious lounge area. There’s a Victorian bath with a view of the Zambezi river where you can enjoy a long luxurious soak in between exhilarating game drives and bush walks. Each chalet has a sofa bed which can be made up for children. Our chalets are fully netted to prevent mosquitoes and other insects from coming into your space. There’s 24 hour battery power and plenty of hot and cold filtered water to ensure you don’t miss out on the elite conveniences of a luxury lodge.
A model of sheer luxury, Kayila Camp is a 4 chalet luxury tented camp that combines tradition with comfort. Nestled on a ridge on the banks of the Zambezi River, Kayila offers sweeping views of the Mana Pools National Park. The camp has a beautiful outdoor lounge area that overlooks the deck and swimming pool, providing a unique vantage point to experience the magic of the Zambezi River.
Although Kayila is very luxurious it also has a relaxed and informal feel. The culinary experience is characterized by no frills home cooking with the option of some local delicacies.
Kayila are proud to partner with Anabezi and Amanzi Camps to provide the “Zambezi Experience”. Here guests can enjoy two to three action packed days at Kayila and then do the 70 kilometre cruise down the Zambezi river, stopping to see the birds and animals that inhabit the length of the river. Stopping on an island for a picnic lunch approximately 10 kilometres upstream from the Anabezi Camp. Guests will then have the option of canoeing to Anabezi or continuing by boat.

The camp offers a plethora of activities: from game drives through the Private Reserve and walks through the property including our famous “River to Ridge”, to sunsets and camp-outs on the escarpment at Farley’s Foundations. Our location also provides a unique insight into the Chiawa/ Mugulameno cultures at the adjoining village communities.
Game Drives & Night Drives - Explore the African wilderness on board our specially designed game viewing vehicles. See the stunning wildlife up close on game drives and night drives.
Boating & Fishing - Guests can enjoy fantastic boating and fishing trips on the Zambezi River. Our well-equipped boats provide utmost comfort to our guests by catering to their individual needs.
Walking Safaris - A selection of scenic bush walks on nature trails are available to enable you to experience the local fauna and flora firsthand. Our walking safaris include the “River to Ridge” and “Escarpment Climb”.
Bird watching - Birders will find their niche at the Lower Zambezi Conservation Area. A veritable bird watchers’ paradise, area is home to over 500 species of birds.
Camp-Out at Farley’s Foundations - Wilderness trails from Kayila take you into the heart of the untamed veld at Farley’s Foundations. From this lofty site 100m up on the escarpment, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the river, and an authentic experience camping in the African bush and sleeping beneath the stars.
Lunch at Chimusambo Village - Guests are invited to enjoy a traditional lunch in Chimusambo village. Sit down to a hearty meal of Nshima and freshly-caught Fish. Learn more about life in a Zambian village and embark on a tour of
Chimusambo village with the local Headman.
