Livingstone is home to one of the seven natural wonders of the world, The Victoria Falls, and
offers many opportunities, both adrenaline filled and more sedate, to view this amazing site. There
are gameviewing opportunities too, with a chance to see the white rhino in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National
Park and river trips on the Zambezi River. Combining these three areas in Zambia gives you an
South Luangwa National Park marks the end of the Great Rift Valley. It is one of the last unspoilt
wilderness areas and possibly the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa, through which the meandering
Luangwa River runs. The ox bow lagoons, woodland and plains of the valley host huge
concentrations of game - including elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion, giraffe, hippo - and over 450
species of birds.
Pumulani on Nankumba Peninsula recognized as one of the most beautiful shores of the Lake and
borders Lake Malawi National Park. This Park was established in order to protect the cichlid fish
unique to the area. In 1984 the park was designated a World Heritage Site.
11 Day Safari includes Stanley Safari Lodge, Livingstone 3 nights; Robin's House, South Luangwa 3 nights & Pumulani, Lake Malawi 4 nights.
Day 1: On arrival at Livingstone International Airport a representative from Stanley Safaris will meet and transfer you to the lodge (20 mins), where you will settle into your accommodation.
Day 2-3: There is a wide range of activities on offer in the area that can be booked at the lodge these include trips to see the falls, town museums and markets and sunset cruises. For the more adventurous, Livingstone boasts a whole host of adrenaline filled activities including whitewater rafting, bungee jumping and micro lighting. Or you may just wish to rest in camp and enjoy the spectacular scenery and peaceful atmosphere. The day will end with a relaxed dinner and perhaps drinks in the wine cellar.
Day 4: Transfer to Livingstone Airport to your onward flight to Mfuwe, South Luangwa. Robin Pope Safari guide will meet you for transfer to Robin's House. Depending on your arrival time in the day you will enjoy a lunch or if in the afternoon for tea and there is the option of an afternoon and night game drive.
Day 5-6: During your stay at the house the rhythm of your day is your choice. Enjoy morning or afternoon game drives, cool off in the swimming pool and enjoy the fascinating animals and landscape around you. We always recommend a visit to the community, by going to the Kawaza Village and School. This is a day that is especially loved by children of all ages. The visit to the village gives further insight in the local life.
Day 7: Transfer to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lilongwe. Robin Pope Safari staff will meet you to assist with immigration procedures. Road transfer to Pumulani to get settled into your accomodations.
Day 8-10: Enjoy your next full days of relaxation at Pumulani. Our remote beach setting is ideal for those who simply want to soak up the sun and swim in the clear blue waters of the lake. Those who prefer to take a dive in the swimming pool, there is an infinity pool near the central dining area with grand views over the lake, as well as another infinity pool on beach level. For those seeking activity we offer many watersports activities like snorkelling, fishing, sailing, kayaking, waterskiing, wake boarding and fun tube rides (all motorized activities are excluded). At the end of the day climb aboard our dhow and let our experienced local crewmen take you sailing into the sunset.
Day 11: Transfer back to Lilongwe in time for the connecting flight back home.
Stanley Safari Lodge: The ten rooms are each unique, individually designed and with an eye for detail that will make sure you will enjoy your African experience to the utmost. And from every room you are able to see the spray of the Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River and the African sunset. Four of the rooms are suites, each having a private plunge pool with deck or terrace, a lounge area, a bedroom and a bathroom with bath and separate shower. The Honeymoon Suite and Family Suite are open suites, which enables you to absorb the sights and sounds of the African bush fully. The Livingstone Suite and Stanley Suite are closed suites with a colonial interior that evoke the elegant era of Stanley and Livingstone. The Stanley doubles up as a family suite as it is two bedroomed; this coupled with the other offerings of the suite affords families some exclusivity. The cottages, six in total, are all in Safari style built with natural materials. Baobab is a closed cottage, but all other cottages (Birds Room, Zambezi View, Mukuni, Mosi-oa-Tunya and Victoria) have an open structure to enhance to your Zambian experience. All these cottages have a bath and shower with all the luxuries you might desire. From the deck or terrace you can enjoy the splendid views of the Zambezi Valley.
Robins House:The two spacious bedrooms (one double and one triple) each with en-suite bathrooms along with main area are protected from the wilds of Zambia by large set gauze windows, this makes it perfectly safe for families with young children. The main area with its large comfy sofa and chairs is the perfect place for catching up on the days safari with a cold drink before your dinner cooked for you by your private chef.The house offers complete privacy with a team of staff dedicated solely to you to ensure that all your needs are attended to.
Pumulani: situated on the Westside of the Nankumba Peninsula in the South end of Lake Malawi – romantically called “The Lake of Stars”. The ten villas are scattered around the hillside and are individual in shape and style. Each villa has a large bedroom, which opens out onto a private deck where early risers can enjoy the morning’s first rays. The bathrooms also offer splendid views and are well equipped with a bathtub, double shower and double sink, and the spacious lounge area offers further comfort for those wishing to relax in the room. The central area consists of a spacious open restaurant with an undercover area, bar and a cosy fire area. One of our infinity swimming pools is on a lower terraced deck. Three raised walkways with steps lead off from the central area to the villas and down to the beach and our second infinity swimming pool.The lake shore bar offers light snacks as well as refreshments. Meals will be served in the dining area, on the beach or by arrangement on your private deck. The stunning setting of the lodge and the unique comfort of the rooms means that many guests choose to make relaxation their main activity, but there are enough activities available to keep guests busy.
