Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
Little Moru Camp offers 6 mobile tents that can be configured as single, twin, double, triple and quad for families with young children.
This small, intimate and special camp is west-facing, modelled on Nasikia Camps mobile offering of the comforts of warms beds and hot bucket showers, stories by the campfire under infinite African night skies. This is where you can feel enveloped in the nearby acacia forest, listening to the calls of the night. This is a seasonal camp, operating only during Tanzania's peak season to add an intimate and affordable option to Nasikia Camps busier, nearby Naona Moru Camp.

Each tent is 12m long by 4m wide made from well-known heavy duty safari rip-stop canvas made locally at Morogoro, southern Tanzania, plus the additional cooling feature of shade-clothing over the entire tent. You are met at the entrance by a patio area with chairs and a table for relaxing when you have a moment. The front of the tents zips fully open, including a layer of mosquito netting and the rip-stop canvas (which zips completely closed) with both layers. Once you step into the tent into the bedroom area, you will see an arrangement of unique furniture like a desk and resting chair, tea station, carpeting, an umbrella and laundry bag, luggage racks, torch/whistle/camp information folder, bedside tables, radio call, charging facilities, framed beds (depending on room configuration). All the fittings depict colours from the famous Serengeti sunsets. We offer double , twin, single, triple and family (quad) tents and each bed is fully netted for custom made protection from mosquitoes and insects. The beds are fitted with cotton sheets, double pillows, duvets and bed runners for your comfort.
The tents have netted windows down each side of the tent which you can fully open with only the canvas remaining at all times with the mosquito netting stitched strongly into the actual tent. Then comes the bathroom area, which can be accessed directly from the bedroom with a separate doorway. Once inside, there is a bathroom stand with a double ceramic wash basin with running water via stylish taps, a mirror, a supply of natural based bathroom products, and linen to suit. This area also displays a woven grass mat, safe and clothes rack. Within this area, there are additional toilet and shower areas for privacy. Inside the toilet area is a ceramic flushing toilet, set on a wooden platform for stability. Inside the shower area, is a stand for washing behind a shower curtain under a 40 litre PVC bucket erected on a pulley system as required. From the entrance of the bedroom and onto the bathroom, each tent is fitted with an extensive solar lighting system for your convenience.
A small plain spreads out in front the camp, leading down to a tributary of the Musabi River – connect western and southern Serengeti. This fertile area, with permanent water source encourages a vast array of resident wildlife, including the endangered Black Rhino which is heavily guarded by ranger patrols. The lush grasses also attract the great migration herds as they pass on their way to western and northern areas of the Serengeti eco system.
Two large tents make up the communal areas of the seasonal camp, Little Moru. One large tent is for guest dining and is fit out with table configurations to suit guest bookings and safari dining chairs. The tent walls are lined with light curtains, some homegrown photography of our Nasikia guides stretched onto canvas and there is a separate area for buffet service and waiter stand as required. All canvas walls of the tent zip open and can be rolled up, although each panel is still netted to protect from insects at night. It is typical to open fully a wall or two during the day to allow the breeze to flow through and oversee the fireplace out in front of the camp.
The other communal tent is a lounge area with bar area (including stools) and comfortable lounges to relax in and has access to a Wi-Fi service for keeping in contact with the family. Please note, Wi-Fi signal in the bush is for communications only, no downloading, uploading or streaming is possible. Coffee table books and a public toilet finish off the area.
The camp operates on solar power with backup generator.
Game Drives
Wildlife viewing and bird watching game drives within the central Serengeti are offered twice per day. Experienced guides encourage guests to see and experience the Serengeti through their eyes, sharing a world of small and large wonders that only they truly know and understand.

We guarantee a private safari vehicle to families of 4 more during the low season, but during high season families with children under 12 are obliged to use a private game-viewing vehicle at extra cost. Our bush guides have a wealth of insightful experience, and they will fascinate you and your children with bush-wise facts, wildlife know-how, games, local customs and incredible stories of life in the wilderness.
Balloon Safaris (optional extra)
Balloon safaris are a romantic and evocative way of experiencing the wilderness of East Africa, as you silently fly over the plains teeming with herds of wildlife in the early morning. Typically, a balloon safari begins around 6 am and lasts for around 1-2 hours. Balloon safaris in the Serengeti take off from designated sites in the nearby Seronera area. The safari is followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush, a fitting end to a memorable flight in the wild.
