Launching April 01 2025, this intimate, eco-friendly glamp-camp offers a 2 night walking trail experience that can be extended to 3 nights, delivering a perfect balance of adventure and Onguma-style comfort
Four en-suite glamping bell tents, accommodaing a maximum of eight guests.
Each tent features extra-length beds, sumptous bedding, a private ensuite outdoor bathroom with a hot bucket shower, and compostable eco-toilet.
Guests can unwind in front of their tent or in their private wood-fired hot tub, soaking in the sights and sounds of the wilderness.
Onguma Trails Camp embodies the reserve's eco-conscious ethos, featuring solar power, bio-friendly toiletries, and sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact while providing a memorable guest experience.
DAY 1 – ARRIVAL:
Meet your guide at Onguma Forest Camp at 13h00.
Transfer to Trails Camp for a light lunch, followed by an activity. The group will participate together in either a sundowner drive or an afternoon walk.
Dinner is served at Trails Camp.
DAY 2:
Start the day with a 6-8 km guided walking safari, learning to track animals, forage for wild edibles, and discover the secrets of the Namibian bush. Pause for a scenic bush breakfast, then return to camp for a late lunch and relax before enjoying an interactive boma dinner under the stars with a stargazing presentation.
DAY 3:
Enjoy an early morning walk before a tasty breakfast and departure.
Guests extending their stay can enjoy an additional day of exploration, and they can eitrher begin their day with a 6 - 8 km guided walking safari through a riverbed, building on their bush skills and deepening their knowledge of the natural environment, or depart on a Sunrise Drive. Sundowners and a delicious 3-course dinner wuth sinsights from Onguma's Conservation Team complete the evening experience. On the day of departure, enjoy an early morning walk before breakfast.
CONSERVATION & REWILDING
Onguma Nature Reserve in Namibia is privately owned land on the earn fringe of Etosha National Park that has been returned from farmland to a pristine bushveld thanks to an ongoing rewilding programme to plant and support indigenous species.
White rhinos were introduced to the reserve in 2024 alongside the black rhinos which were already well habituated. All rhino in Namibia are owned by the Namibian Government, but Onguma is a proud custodian. The reserve is also home to a healthy population of lion, cheetah, leopard and elephant.
All guests at Onguma contribute towards the anti-poaching unit via a N$150 rhino levy as well as a N$275 NTB tourism levy to support conservation fund and a Social Development Levy.

Guests can opt to stay at any of the five Onguma lodges for a post-trail experience. This will allow a different guest experience with time to enjoy a spa treatment, a swim with views over a water- hole, book a session in the Onkolo photo hide or sleep under the stars on the Dream Cruiser – as well as take the opportunity to enjoy guided day trips into Etosha National Park.
The following camps compliment Onguma Trails Camp well, and should be considered when extending an itinerary.
