Download Fact SheetUnder Serengeti Bushtops canvas lies the finest seductive luxury in twelve of the largest, most impressive tented en suites imaginable. Each tent faces the sunset and is open on two sides, giving you an extraordinary panoramic view of nature’s living masterpiece. Each boasts 393 square feet of luxurious living space, providing ample room to wander at leisure, sink into a deck lounger, soak in your private hot tub or gaze out at passing wildlife. Our two family tents are perfect for bigger families, especially since they are linked by a short bridge to create a private family suite.
This is your personal realm, ideally suited to restful sleep, taking an open-air shower beneath the warm African sun, unwinding as you await drinks from your private butler, or perhaps relaxing in your private hot tub after an exhilarating day on safari. Due to our location, cellphone and Wi-Fi signals come and go, but you can always stay connected.
The privacy of your tent at Serengeti Bushtops is complemented by the relaxing spaces you can share with fellow guests. At the heart of the camp are our reception with shop, our elegant open-sided mess tent and contemporary lounge – complete with bar, library, plus our unique wine wall. A highlight of each day is savoring an à la carte gourmet meal and sharing safari stories with fellow guests. Wooden decks and a swimming pool provide additional spaces to wind down, read, chat, snooze or settle into a chair and enjoy striking views across the Serengeti landscape, with nothing to disturb your view or peace of mind. And if you would like a drink or something to eat, we are always on hand to make your wish a rapid reality.
Guests will explore the vast plains of the Serengeti in state-of-the-art open converted 4x4 vehicles, viewing its natural dramas during morning and afternoon or full day game drives. The camp’s excellent guides will help you pick out the action, and also the perfect secluded spot should you want to take a break during a day trip for a romantic bush picnic or go on a guided walking safari. A tour of a local school provides an education (we’re never too old to learn), as does a visit to a traditional Kuria village. We can also arrange a display of Kuria archery, where you can try out your own bow and arrow skills, or you can try your hand at Kuria Bao – a traditional board game, or even learn a little Swahili.
If you want to make the most of your luxurious tent, your butler will always be happy to arrange breakfast in bed, a romantic private dinner, canapés and drinks in your hot tub, or an aromatherapy massage on your deck. If you give him a day’s notice, the camp manager can arrange a romantic dinner at Klipspringer Kopjes, or a Sundowner on Simba’s rock (there is an additional charge for these activities).
If you are bringing young members of the family with you, there’s something new and exciting awaiting them at Bushtops: our Bushcraft Challenge. This introduces youngsters to basic survival skills, local culture, the importance of conservation and (of course) local flora and fauna. Activities include learning to make fire without matches or lighters; completing animal spotting checklists (helped by our rangers); identifying animal tracks and making a memento plaster cast of their favorites (we can even arrange to have a Bronze made out of your cast. This will be sent to you via courier); learning about animal bones; practicing archery; trying out bead-making skills; baking Swahili cookies; and more! Completing the Challenge leads to a Bushtops Bushcraft Certificate, authenticating unique skills and sense of real achievement.
