Day 1 On arrival at Lusaka International Airport a Robin Pope Safaris representative will meet and assist you onto your flight to Mfiuwe Airstrip, South Luangwa National Park. At Mfuwe International Airport a guide from Robin Pope Safaris will meet you and transfer you to Tena Tena. The drive to camp is approximately an hour and a half through colorful local scenes of villages, agriculture as well as bush; but possibly game sightings too.
Day 2-3 You have two days to enjoy the classic South Luangwa experience centred around exceptional wildlife viewing by game vehicle and the valley's signature walking safaris.
Day 4 Today you continue your journey into one of Zambia’s most captivating wilderness areas, the Lower Zambezi National Park. Your transfer will take you on a scheduled flight to Jeki airstrip, where you’ll be met by your guide. From here, you’ll travel through riverine woodland and along the Zambezi’s channels as you make your way to eithere Musesenji River Camp OR Kujana Camp, with wildlife often appearing before you’ve even settled in.
Day 5-6 You have two days to enjoy the essence of the Lower Zambezi, a region celebrated for its blend of river‑based adventures and exceptional wildlife viewing. Explore the Zambezi’s channels by boat or head out on classic game drives through winterthorn forests and open floodplains. It’s a wonderfully varied safari experience that showcases the park’s tranquillity, beauty, and remarkable diversity.
Day 7 Today you continue your journey into Liuwa Plains. As you leave the river and escarpment behind, the landscape opens into vast, shimmering grasslands — a dramatic shift that signals your arrival in one of Africa’s most remote and untouched ecosystems.
Day 8-9 You have two days to explore the vast, otherworldly landscapes of Liuwa Plains, a region defined by endless horizons, dramatic skies, and one of Africa’s most remote wilderness experiences. Spend your time discovering the sweeping grasslands on game drives, watching the movement of wildebeest herds and the striking contrast of red lechwe against the plains. This is also a place of exceptional birdlife, seasonal pans, and the quiet presence of predators including cheetah and hyena. The experience is serene, spacious, and deeply atmospheric — a rare safari that celebrates solitude, space, and the raw beauty of Zambia’s wild west. To follow the wildebeest migration your second night may involve sleeping out in the wilds of the Luiwa Plains National Park and have the wildebeest herds close at hand.
Day 10
Today marks the final day of your Zambian adventure as you bid farewell to the wide‑open beauty of Liuwa Plains. After breakfast, you’ll board your direct flight from Liuwa Plains to Lusaka, enjoying one last sweep over the floodplains before the landscape gives way to the city below. On arrival in Lusaka, you’ll connect to your onward international flight, whether homeward bound or continuing your travels elsewhere.
