Malawi may be one of Africa’s smallest countries but when it comes to exploration and adventure, it has tremendous amounts to offer; from grasslands and forests, mountaintops, unspoilt wildlife parks to Africa’s third largest and most beautiful lake!

The wildlife parks in Malawi are picturesque as well as diverse in game. Also unlike other African parks these have a very exclusive feel to them with only a few lodges operating in each. Reserves such as Majete Wildlife Reserve, are virtually undiscovered by tourists thus visiting it feels more like an expedition; making for unique and exciting safaris. Majete is also the only official Big 5 Park in Malawi. Malawi is not a wealthy country, but there are great riches in the people.

Malawi is a landlocked country, running down the end of the Great Rift Valley. Dominated by Lake Malawi, the third largest lake in Africa, the surrounding country is exceptionally beautiful with dramatic scenery that includes rocky outcrops, high mountains, plateaus and views across what is considered to be Africa’s most beautiful lake. Malawi is known as the “Warm Heart of Africa” and as people, the Malawians live up to this name. They are extremely friendly and welcoming. There are many market scenes, road side stalls, cottage industries that a visitor can comfortably visit. With both the scenery and the culture Malawi is a great country to drive in.
- MKULUMADZI LODGE:
  - The lodge is situated in Southern Malawi, set on a lush riverbank within Majete Wildlife Reserve. The lodge has eight superb chalets, each with spacious living quarters and private viewing deck. Of the chalets three are double, two are twin, one is a honeymoon chalet and there are two family chalets. Each chalet has en suite bathroom with double basins, bath and shower. The main area has a pool and dining area under the stars.
- KUTHENGO CAMP:
  - Kuthengo has four spacious and modern safari tents (two twin, one king, one family tent) which are all en-suite, each with double basins, a bathtub and an outdoor shower. The eco-friendly evening breeze air conditioning (state of the art and environment friendly cooling system for the bed within the mosquito net), adds to the comforts of this intimate camp. The camp runs off solar power with a backup generator for cloudy days.
- PUMULANI:
  - Dutch architect G. Hooft Graafland designed each of the ten villas individually adapting them to their own unique location to ensure they blend harmoniously into their different surroundings. The gently curving lines of the very spacious villas reflect the patterns and movements of the lake along with the interior design, which is directly inspired from the surrounding nature. Each villa has a large bedroom, which opens out onto a private deck where early risers can enjoy the morning’s first rays. The bathrooms also offer splendid views and are well equipped with a bathtub, double shower and double sink, and the spacious lounge area offers further comfort for those wishing to relax in the room.
- MKULUMADZI:
  - The luxurious lodge is in a stunning location and activities include game-drives, boating safaris, bush walks, hiking Majete Hill, black rhino tracking, cultural tours, birding trips on the Shire River and game-viewing from a hide. Guests are free to be as energetic or as idle as they please although at least one activity per day is encouraged to best enjoy Majete.
- KUTHENGO CAMP:
  - Liwonde National Park is considered to be one of the top birding locations in Southern Africa. The park offers some of the most scenic game viewing, beautiful riverine surroundings and varied bird watching you could wish to find. A great deal of the terrain is Shire River floodplains, much loved by the healthy population of Elephants in this park. They are best viewed during your boat safari on the Shire River, one of the many highlights of a stay at Kuthengo Camp. Explore the Shire River and lagoons - an excellent opportunity for sightings of elephants, hippo, crocodile and bird life. Also available is a viewing hide on a tributary of the Shire River and also some interesting visits to the local school and surrounding rural communities.
- PUMULANI:
  - Our remote beach setting is ideal for those who simply want to soak up the sun and swim in the clear blue waters of the lake. Those who prefer to take a dive in the swimming pool, there is an infinity pool near the central dining area with grand views over the lake, as well as another infinity pool on beach level. For those seeking activity we offer many watersports activities like snorkeling, fishing, sailing, kayaking, waterskiing, wake boarding and fun tube rides (all motorized activities are
    excluded). At the end of the day climb aboard our dhow and let our experienced local crewmen take you sailing into the sunset.We offer special diving courses at the best diving spots near one of the islands. For those who are interested in the real Malawian village life we offer guided walks through one of the local villages.
